For those who love funny DME stories:
I've had a Sullivan V Lightweight CPAP for 9 years. The DME has done nothing in that time to service me or contact me about filters, masks, tubing, etc. Like an idiot, I 've been using the same masks which I got originally.
I recently had a new titration which resulted in a changed optimal pressure. I called the DME. When they heard that my insurance had changed, they suggested that I have the new DME change my machine. When I informed them that that company refused to touch a machine provided by another DME, and they realized that they would have to make an uncompensated service call, they quickly gave me the keystrokes to change the pressure myself.
It seems that "patient care concerns" may depend on whether they are getting paid for it or not.
