Head gear Hair? Do you wrap your hair?

Post by stoverquill » Tue Nov 14, 2006 9:10 am

Hi,
Another question

I could use advice on head gear vs hair. My hair is very fine and tends to tangle around anything that gets even close to it. Do you wear cap, kerchief, etc?
Wishing you dreams!!!

I am a newbie when it comes to living with CPAP, and bald to boot, but I do know a CPAP pro who has hair; and still values it. He uses a "durag" picked up from a local beauty supply store. These are colorful polyester skull rags you often see on rappers. (I also know lots of Harley folks who use them to avoid helmet-hair; if they still have any.) As delivered they usually have long tails, but they can be trimmed up to provide a tidy fit that won't get wound up in your headgear. This is anecdotal, but I hope it is useful.

Sleep Well!

Age has thinned my hair and my Breeze headgear thins it more. I now wear a Whittman Textiles simple cotton cap (they come in three-paks). Isn't the bald one lucky? No hair worries!

Here's a link to IBTeri's cap for bed head;

I haven't tried it (I have very short hair) but it might work for you.

Hair and headgear

I don't think it's my imagination that the headgear support for the Breeze is not helping the hair on the top of my head. It has thinned a lot this past few months. Plus, my hair has gotten long and I fight slipping headgear much worse than when it was short.

The previously mentioned durag has a fringe benefit in that it has long wrap-around straps that can be used to help anchor over-the-head tubing if tied on top of the tubing near the forehead. Now, if I could just get my grandson to return my durag that he "borrowed".

hehehe the Breeze has been known to leave a shiny spot back there. Get some of that BBQ black paint like that Ron Popel stuff

me? I'm a flow-bee person myself, never have to worry about that stuff

I'm fortunate in that I have worn the Breeze for two years and haven't lost any hair. I have so much gel and mousse and hair junk in my hair that the thing won't slip a bit when I put it on. I guess all of my styling products help hold it in place.
