hi everyone , i am a medical student ,i come from China!
recently ,i have read a lot of articles about CPAP!
Studies have shown a high prevalence of OSAHS shortly after stroke .The patients with OSAHS is associated with poor functional outcome, increased morbidity and mortality, and sudden death.
BUT i want to know whether the functional outcome ,just like NIHSS,MRS,BI,sleep quality et.,can be improved when patients use CPAP!
because ,i need these articles,so i come here .I hope some friends can help me .i will appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
my email is lx2005918@163.com

Hi, nice to meet you! I think you are asking a question that can only be answered by doctors who have conducted research studies on 'percentages' of people who have better functional outcomes after stroke if they are put on CPAP. This forum is for people (not doctors) who are diagnosed with OSA(HS) to talk to each other about their experience with it, and CPAP, and different equipment used, etc. There are a few people on the forum who have had strokes, but no one here (I believe) keeps statistics on what you are asking about. The forum is just for ordinary people to share how they are managing with OSA and CPAP. You need to talk to medical professionals and read scientific journals I think, to find what you want. However, we are very happy to talk to you anytime as a friend, or someone who has OSA and needs help adjusting to living with CPAP.
