I need help analyzing a couple of nights data in deciding what's causing my OA to shoot up so high and raise my AHI. I would welcome any insights and suggestions. Thanks.
My auto is set 7-12 pressure,Cflex at 2,titration was 11, My average leak for both nights was 25 (no large leaks) which is very good for the mask. Was always a back sleeper including during my sleep study but recently trying to go to mostly side sleeping which has improved my numbers to these below:
10/25 10/26
90% AutoCPAP =8.4 8.4
Avg AutoCPAP =7.6 7.5
OA =2.0 1.5
H =2.1 2.6
VS =4.6 3.0
AHI =4.1 4.2
The OAs for various pressures was:
10/25 10/26
7 =1.2 1.1
8 =1.2 .5
9 =6.0 4.8
10 =17.1 30.0
11 = 8.3 0
12 = 0 0
Thanks again.

The two sets of data are for 2 nights.. 10/25/06 and 10/26/06.. the columns just didn't line up too well. I checked the numbers and they are correct. In the mornings I don't feel great but I feel a heck of a lot better than I have felt before CPAP. Each night I slept approximately 7 hours with 2 awakenings each night.
What got my attention was the OA of 30.0 at a pressure of 10 on 10/26 and the OA of 17.1 at a pressure of 10 on 10/25.

This is what I would do......
Set the machine up in CFLE mode (single pressure) at 8 cm. and try that for a few nights. If that isn't lowering the numbers, try 9 for a few nights.....and so forth till the right pressure is determined.
It may be the pressure changes that are waking you up.

Thanks for the feedback abd suggestions. I think you are right I need to raise the min pressure and am going to 8 and see the effect although I may initially leave it on auto and go from there.
On my printout for 10/26/06 there is a table at the bottom of the page with pressures across the top ranging from 4 to 20. On the left hand side of the table going down the column is minutes,minutes as a % of night,flow limitation,WS,NR Apnea and Hypops,OA,Hypop, and AHi.
Reading the OA line across the table to a pressure of ten indicates 30.0. Conversely,the time at that pressure was 4.0 minutes( .8%) versus 334(66.0%) minutes at 7 and 117(23.2%) at 8.
Any other suggestions based on the additional info?
Thanks for your help.
