Missing Data

Post by krousseau » Mon Oct 23, 2006 9:58 am

Encore 1.6.22 (My Encore 1.5B7)

When I downloaded my info this AM Saturday night showed up 0:00 hr of sleep and no data for the night Oct 21-Oct 22. The data is there for Fri & Sun nights-now I suppose I might not have gotten the card in whole way-I listen for the beep that indicates the card is in but you know how habits are-I think I listen every time-so can't conceive of not listening. If I'm right that the card was in-and I know I went to sleep with the mask on-and woke up with it on 7 hr later-and 400 ml of water was gone from the humidifier-does anyone have any suggestions. Has it happened to anyone else or am I back to possibility I didn't get the card in the whole way on the previous download and was listening to the birds while inserting the card???

Should I erase the card-might it be an over write error-there are as about 3 months of data on it????

krousseau,

There was a post about missing info, (which I did not read).

It once happened to me when the card had its 8th session recorded, it erased the night before session 7.

I erased the card then things worked fine. I just erased the card again to collect 7 sessions. Not the common or prefered paractice.

I suggestion, you try a small nap and see how the card records the data, if the nap is missing or more resent info, then you may want to erase the data from the card and start fresh with it.
I can do this, I will do this.

Sometimes, I have put the card in and get an error which means the machine can't read the card. I reseat the card and it works fine.
I suppose if you placed the card in the slot but not fully, you would not record data for that period. The card is being read if you can read the word card in the upper right of the read-out. The card should be able to hold about 6 months data. When it decides it is full, it will drop the oldest data first. I don't believe this is what happened in your case.
Keep an eye on the card seating and I don't think you will have the problem again.

Since I've switched over to the Respironics M Series Pro with the new Encore program, EVERY Saturday night is missing (and, now, I didn't forget to come home those nights).

JPZeller,

My first reaction was to LOL.

My missing night is also Saturday night, on a Respironics M Series. I have the Auto.

Kay,

I can think of a number of scenarios that might cause this. (including the obvious....didn't get the card seated in the XPAP, etc.)
My first thought is are you SURE it actually went through the download procedure?
Did the light on the cardreader turn green? (as it was downloading)
Did it come up with a message asking whether you wanted to erase it?

Yes, but I'm not kidding - for some reason Saturday nights are not being picked up. I thought it was just me until I read the first post in this thread.

JPZeller,

Try erasing teh data so that on a Saturday, there will be less then 7 episodes of sleep recorded. It should record that Saturday night. That has been my experience.
I can do this, I will do this.

How often do you download? Weekly? Daily?

I download after every sleep session, but I did not delete until, I had the Saturday night not resgister. Now I happened to erase the data before the Saturday night.

I would say you're waiting too long then. It's been discussed that the card only holds 6 - 7 nights worth of detailed data. Maybe you've found that it only holds 6 nights.....

This phenomenon never occurred prior to the switch to the new machine and software, so maybe it is only the new software that is so limited.

I usually download weekly on Sunday morning-but have had a cold & bronchitis and taking naps/sleeping longer-so knowing that I might get only 5-6 days of detailed data when recording longer hours of sleep I downloaded (but did not look at data) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Maybe I'll start downloading on Wed & Sunday.
I like having the week's data in one "batch" since I usually make changes on Sunday then have a week's worth of data to look at.
Is there a way to combine the detailed data in Encore Pro? Maybe I'll just have to do that in My Encore. And can you rename the downloads in Encore Pro-if experimenting I'd like to identify the download with some indication of the parameters I tried that week.

There was a post re missing data a week or so ago that was in My Encore though.

Kay,

I think I would let MyEncore do the batching/combining of data. Encore Pro is useful for seeing when the events took place and that sort of thing, but MyEncore does a much better job of grouping days to see averages.
