Swift soon to be in need of new home

Post by DreamStalker » Mon Oct 23, 2006 7:42 am

Yesterday afternoon I deconstructed my Breeze for a thorough cleaning and it did not completely dry before my bedtime last night. So I used my backup Swift knowing I would be limited to sleeping on only one side or my back. This morning I took a look at my numbers and I realized just how well I had been doing with my Breeze. The Breeze almost always gets me AHI 2.2 or better and AI always under 0.2 and more often zero. The Swift last night only got me and AHI of 4.8 with an AI of 1.2.

As soon as I can get me another Breeze or find another backup that can surpass the Swift, I will likely be putting the Swift up for sale by end of the year.

I have seen the same thing with my swift. I have been getting constant AHI's of 2.6 to 2.8 on my Mirage Activa. I tried my swift for one night last week and got a 5.0 AHI. I am going to try it again soon to see if it gives me the same again.

DreamStalker,

I am not tooting a horn for the Swift. (I am not sure of it, for one thing.)

I am wondering why you think that the Swift is giving you the high AHI.

In the 3 1/2 weeks that I have used my APAP, I have found that so many things effect the AHI. For myself, having a glass of wine with supper, yikes, rolling on to my back, I have done that a few times, increased the numbers.

For example with the swift, my AHI has the large range of 0.0 to 4.5.

As for sleep position, when I first tried the swift, I was actually surprised that I could sleep on my stomach and either side.

I can do this, I will do this.

I don't know. I used to get better numbers when I was using the Swift as my main interface. Nevertheless, my Breeze still gives me consistently even better numbers than the Swift. The Swift is not a bad interface ... its just that the Breeze does better in terms of both numbers and comfort (ability to sleep in most any position). The Swift shifts and causes leaks in any position other than back or side opposite the hose.

Intresting DreamStalker.

I have gotten numbers all over the place with both the swift (2 weeks) and the comfort curve (1 week).

Does the Breeze give you consistant numbers. Do interfaces usually give consistant numbers?

Of course, above all is your comfort and how you sleep .

I can do this, I will do this.
