Hybrid...I give up

Post by motherall » Sat Oct 21, 2006 4:52 pm

I have tried to adjust to this mask and want so badly for it to work but between it leaking and /or making blisters on my face, I'm done with it. I'm ready to sell or trade...have used only the small mask and pillows, no adjustments or chin flaps cut. I have the original headgear and was also sent the reinforced one when I wrote Innomed to tell them the neck strap cut my neck. Let me know if anyone is interested in buying or swapping. I'm looking for a NasaireII or Tiara Snapp. I'm really disappointed that this didn't work but very glad the pulmonary doctor says my readings with just the nasal pillows are great and not to worry if I can't wear a face mask.

Sorry you're having mask problems. Please check your PM's.

I'd give it up too but its glued to my face---not really but the silicone sealer is working well. I tried it on the oldest Hybrid mask cushion which had a tear in the corner of the floppy seal-the mask usually leaks badly there but with a liberal coat of sealer it works fine-no significant leaks. 4 nights and no skin problem from the sealer.
I am still planning to try one of the nasal pillow interfaces though.

don't forget to put your luggage tag on that mask before you ship it out, it may just make it's way around the world!

Krousseau,
What type of silicone sealer did you use and where do you get it? Have you tried the moleskin?

Hybrid

Hybrid has been sucessfully traded. I'm sorry it didn't work for me but hope the new user is successful. And I'm looking forward to getting something I'm pretty sure I'll be able to use. Thanks for all the replies. From what I've seen here, there will be more offers on this love/hate mask.

See the thread on "scuba mask sealer revisited"-it is Marine Sports Mask Sealer-but someone suggested trying silicone plumbing lubricant. Far cheaper and OK'd for contact with drinking water so.....I'll try it.

I've used moleskin a lot-for a lot ot purposes-but have not yet found a situation I thought moleskin would help with my cpap mask. I figured that the moleskin would interfere with the function of that thin flexible seal where I have leaks. I have tried the Bandaid Blister Ampoules directly on my face over areas where leaks develop-or where I once had a blister. Worked for the blister-not for the leak.
