Adam Circuit vs Breeze

Post by DreamStalker » Mon Oct 16, 2006 8:41 am

I have been using the Breeze (which I modified to replace the stiff metal spine and back plate with velcro stretch headgear) with excellent results ... consistent AHIs under 3 and AI values less than 0.2 and quite often 0.0 and very comfortable for my sleeping characteristics.

I noticed that I ended up modifying the Breeze back into something very similar to it's original design of the Adam circuit.

Anyone out there tried both of these and able to provide some background and comparisons between the two (ie. specifically headgear/stability and CO2 ventilation)?

Thanks,

- roberto

I had an Adam Circuit mask. However, I scrapped it out after getting a
ComfortLite 2. I like the CL2 much better.

Note: I did the RG mod to the CL2 (remove 90 degree swivel). This mod makes it similar to the Adam Circuit, on top.

I have an original Adams Cicuit (that was its name & is on the pack). Managed to buy a set of 5 them very inexpensively - (must have been sitting on someone's clinic shelf (the packets were very dusty).

Of all my nasal pillows masks - I like it most but I modified the assembly a little (put an extra swivel in where the nose piece is & removed the angle bit).

These masks cam in bits & you assemble yourself.

The breeze drove me crazy with that hard spline.

Yup DEn,

That the one. I wasn't sure if they were still on sale.

They are I believe a Puritan Bennett product & yes the Breeze was modelled on them (but IMHO they failed to imrove anything - just made a good design bad).

The angle bit at the nose end brings the nose module up to far for me so I use the mask without that bit angle - I replace it with a swivel.

So, I have a swivel at the nose bit end and a swivel at the hose connecting end. The swivel at the nose end relieves any sideways pressure as I sleep.

Those straps up the side are the nearest thing to NightHawkeye's fishing line.

The only part of these masks I dislike a little is the firmness & thickness of those pads that the side straps velcro onto.

have you seen the hint & picture as above, sounds similar to your idea.
I have been tempted to try the Adams,I like the minimal Breeze but the spine is a hard, but as I side sleep it's not bad. do you think the
Adams would be ok for women, re the smaller or different shaped heads? I must take another look at the picture of it.

Ms Piggy - I took a look at cpapman's comments

I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't get the sores when I remove the angle bit. But, I believe that is because I replace that angle bit with a swivel - the swivel added at the nasal unit end allows the pillows base to flex as I move.

I believe this mask will be fine for any sized head as it is all straps & velcro.

I originally happened to get one by accident. It must have been a prototype as it was one 6 ft hose (not in 2 bits like the photos show) plus it had no angle bit plus it had the swivel where the angle bit is now - I though it was pillows paradise after all the other ones I had tried.

It lends itself to Rested Gal type mods.
