Senior dreams

Post by ostrich » Sun Oct 15, 2006 1:31 pm

I have been CPAP since June of this year and at the age of 63 lately I am starting to have very vivid sexual dreams. I gave up being intimate a few years ago do to a lack of ability. Should I ask my sleep doc to prescribe some viagra or are these dreams (hopefully) waking something else up, or am I just dreaming! It would sure be a surprise for my wife.

ah libido improvment, enjoy it while you can.

It also lowers your hypertension thought to be the root cause of ED. Careful with Viagra this report from WebMD suggests otherwise:

That's not good, but since the machine "fixes" the apnea - that shouldn't be a hazard for this old man. BTW, my bp was 120/68 last month.

Am I the only one experiencing these events? Is it expected?

Well, John, mine never went entirely to sleep, but it didn't raise its head nearly as often as I wanted it to.

I'll be 65 in January, and am back to functioning the way I did when I was in my 40's. The improvement started for me after 2 - 3 months. I have been on CPAP since October, 2003, and never miss a night.

I do not use any chemical enhancers, but am aware that for some they have been extremely helpful.

By all means discuss it with your doctor.

Thanks Amigo for the info. I have been on CPAP since June and I am now just feeling results. It's interesting how something like apnea could throw our whole system off kilter. Six more months on cpap I should be able to walk on air! BTW, I now use a full face mask and that has made a difference, too.
