rested gal said, "Why not ask your internist to order another overnight recording pulse oxi test? Using your cpap machine without O2."
Wouldn't it be better to buy a SPO 7500 pulse oximeter and associated software for about $ 500??? Then you would own your own diagnostic equipment, could test yourself often and come to your own conclusions on the need for supplemental O2. If you have a friend on CPAP therapy, buy the unit jointly, install the software on both PC's and trade the pulse oximeter back and forth. Then you are talking $ 250 each.
As far as adding O2 is concerned, if the O2 is delivered by a positive displacement pump, CPAP pressure will have no effect on delivery rate. Does anyone know how the O2 is pumped? The WW II vet that I used to have breakfast with, used a tee fitting placed between the hose and the mask for O2 introduction. Is this a common way of delivering O2?

Some masks have a port on them for O2, but then you have another hose to dance with. Most use a fitting between the HH and hose, with a check valve to prevent O2 from flowing backwards into the XPAP, due to fire hazzard. Jim

Sometimes I get the feeling that listeners not>0, so why take up room.
It really wasn't that important, as I tend to write more than necessary.

NOW I'M GONNA CRY!!!!!!!!!
My O2 is 'introduced'/joins the flow after the HH via additional port.
I questioned a RT why the oxygen wasn't closer to the mask, and he replied that at one time it was done that way, however, O2 was quickly lost due to being forced out the exhale port, and a better mixture was had by introducing it sooner. ??????? Have check-valve on order.
