Just wanted to introduce myself. I have lots of questions .. but I won't ask them all at once .. lol.
I'm a 42 yr old M using a BiPAP S/T. My levels are 8 and 16 for pressure, my rate is 16/minute and my insp rate is 1 sec, rise is set to 2 secs. I don't use any ramp.
I was told that the respironics BiPaP S/T was the newest. Is the "Auto" a better choice? I feel like the machine adjusts itself ... lets me take spontaneous breaths ... stuff like that .. but was wondering if the "auto" is more responsive or has more "auto tuning" capabilities etc.
New user: Just got my machine a week ago.

Kinner,
Welcome aboard (you are in good company here at cpaptalk)
The BiPap S/T (gray model) is the latest Bipap but the latest Auto from Respironics is the BiPap Auto.
The BiPap Auto doesn't have the timed feature. But, as Autos go it is pretty fancy.
If you don't use the 'Timed' feature of the BiPap S/T then the BiPap Auto may well be the better choice.
The internals of the BiPap S/T and Bipap Auto are very different. The BiPap Auto is an advanced variation of the RemStar Auto w c/flex.
The BiPap S/T has a different set of tuning parameters to the BiPap Auto.
Do you have 'Mixed' Apnea ? (usual reason someone has a S/T - I don't but I like S/T Bilevels )
Hope this proves helpful.
Cheers DSM
