Swivel for Comfortlite 2

Post by Yoga » Sat Oct 14, 2006 12:02 am

Rested Gal,

I have just ordered the Comfortlite 2 mask. I remember that you recommended a particular straight swivel from another mask but could not find which one. Would you please let me know.

Thanks,

Yoga

Rested Gal:
I remember rading references to your modifications, but I do not understand WHY. I'm happy with the 'swivel'. ...or have I missed a tremendous improvement? Thanks.

Here ya go, Yoga. My first post in that thread has clickable links at the bottom of the post about the swivel hose replacement.

The swivel connector short hose from either of these masks is what I used: resmed's Activa or Vista mask.

The connector hose is exactly the same for those two masks.

Some people are not bothered at all by the swivel connector elbow on top of the CL2. It felt clunky up there to me when I turned over. That's why I chopped it off and stuck the Activa/Vista hose up there.

Laura is so right--some people are not bothered by the swivel.

For me, the main problem with the swivel is the hose. When the hose is supported, the headgear doesn't pull and I can toss and turn at will! So, propping the hose on the headboard, clipping it to the sheet or hanging it (a lot of people use the hook and scrunchie method) keeps the swivel under control for me.

Good luck and hope you like your CL 2!

thanks again RG, Last night and this a.m. I spent/wasted ages looking for that thread. If I knew how to find the LINKS for masks it might have helped. That search system defeats me most times, pathetic I know but....

I have just got the extra hose piece for my cl2 but am going to try it without chopping the elbow first, so I have just removed the elbow piece and added the hose. A plus may be that if I kink out the lower peice of hose it allows me to adjust (or seems to) the angle in a bit more , as for me the adjustment supplied is not sufficient, I have to use the hose tie trick.
