AHI went up

Post by quilterB » Tue Oct 10, 2006 6:06 am

I have kept my large leak at 0 min. for the last 2 nights and my average leak 47 to 50 which is a little above what it should be for my hybrid, but I haven't ever had it much lower. Last night my AHI was 9.4. That is the highest it has ever been since I started to use the software. I have always been under 5, sometimes barely, but never over. If not the leak, what else makes your numbers go up?

I have also changed the range from an original of 7 to 20, gradually down to 8 to 13. It has been 8 to 13 for the past 2 nights and my 90% pressure has been at 13 for those 2 nights. Could that be a contributor.

Lots of tweaking with this therapy! Thanks,
Linda

At first glance, it would appear a higher maximum pressure is needed.
I say this because your 90% pressure is the same as your maximum
pressure setting.
+ Aussie heated hose.

..also, according to my Hybrid manual, your leak is right on.

@ 10 cm/H2O = 48 LPM

@12.5 cm/H2O = 55 LPM

@ 15 cm/H2O = 60 LPM
+ Aussie heated hose.

quilterB,

I do not have much experience with the APAP, but I have made some early observations.

At naps (to tired, to avoid one) my AHI doubles compared to the night AHI.

I had a glass of wine one night and the AHI doubled.

With all other things equipment related being equal.

Were you more tired,
Did you have a drink
took any medication.

Just a thought.

I can do this, I will do this.

My disclaimer: I'm not a doctor, nor have I ever worked in the health care field Just my personal opinions.
