Just Keepin' on keepin' on

Post by Snoozin' Bluezzz » Fri Oct 06, 2006 5:59 pm

I'm piping up to say that while I have been reticent on the forum I am actively lurking and happy to see all the contributors.

I have little of worth or interest to report. My OSA therapy is in an acutely "normal" stage. I wash my face, poligrip my mouth, put my vinegar spritzed Swift on and hose up to my Remstar APAP each and every night at a constant 9cm H2O. Each morning I unhook, spritz the Swift, peel the poligrip, power off the APAP, disconnect the hose. Day in, day out it has been constant like this for 3 months now and pretty much like this since last February after I got all the initial "bugs" out. My AHI varies between 2.5 at the highest and .8 at the lowest. My time in apnea every single night is 2 minutes. Snores and leaks are pretty constant. It doesn't vary much. At times I feel the noticeable benefits of xPAP therapy and at other times it seems transparent. I have other health problems that need to be sorted out before xPAP may make the difference it can but a bad night on xPAP is better than the best night without so I just keep on keeping on.

Y'all just keep on keepin' on too, ya hear!

Thank you.

From your lips to God's ears.

May you just keep on keeping on. It is kind of nice to be in a regular, effective routine for treatment.

Be kinder than necessary; everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Hi David.

Good to hear you're hanging right in there.
Some days the routine gets to be pretty "Ho Hum", but that's a good sign, too.
Are you running your APAP in single pressure mode? (that's what I gathered)
Have you tried any higher settings to get your AHI down? (although it's not "bad" where it is and mine varies some, too)

Best wishes,

Den

I'll add my congratulations, David. Good to hear from you again, too. Seems like so many folks come and go here. My own postings have gone down quite a bit as well.

BTW, I never did get the poligrip strips to work for me . . . or the poligrip . . . and I'm too chicken to do the mouth tape . . . but I am considering it.

Regards,
Bill

Den - 9cm seems to be my "sweet" spot. Above and below it seems that my AHI goes up. Lower is Hypopneas and higher is Apneas. Strange. I have not done a self-titration since June so perhaps I'll take a look in a bit.

Bill - Thanks. Good luck. I'm sorry the poligrip doesn't work for you. The way I am doing it now it almost like using nothing. On posting - it seems like I really don't have too much to offer that others can't contribute just as well and when I do get going my opinions can get pretty strong and my ego quite involved and there are plenty of others willing to carry that ball so I just abstain unless something seems really meaningful to me.

Take care, both of you.

David
