What's the deal here: Resprionics offers extended warranty....but only in Canada. I would like to buy the AutoCflex but from CPAP.com but I am very apprehensive given Respironic's less than satisfactory reliablity record. Many DME's in Canada stopped recommending Respironics because of this fact but now more are because Respironics is offering upto a maximum 5 year warranty!
Why isn't this warranty available in the US? FWIW, the price @CPAP.com is almost 2x less than in Canada.

Is this warranty offered by Respironics or a third party?
Sincerely,

Warrenty
I wonder if the 5-year warrenty has something to do with some changes that have occurred lately in Ontario's Assistive Devices Program. This program assists with the purchase of medically necessary equipment and has the ability to cap the price of CPAP equipment. The program will allow the purchase of one CPAP/APAP device per 5 years. Perhaps Respironics has gotten lots of encouragement (read: flack) to improve the warrenty on their equipment so that people are not left stranded if their device fails within the 5-year period.

The extended warranty is with Respironics themselves, not a third party.
Could have something to do with Ontario, but my extended insurance through Sunlife will only cover a CPAP ONCE every 10 (ten) years! What total BS!
