CPAP filter and allergies

Post by Sunshine_gal » Tue Oct 03, 2006 11:54 am

Hi All,

I am having a challenge with my new rental Remstar Auto M.

Maybe others are similar challenges and have suggestions.

With respect to my chemical allergies, I notice the new M filter area is very tiny compared with my old Respironics Choice. I have replaced the foam filters with the white 3M electret filter media and carbon media. This has helped control my reactions to odors. Also washed the plastic parts with baking soda to remove the "new" plastic smell and disinfectant smell.

Also I wake feeling not able to breathe with my brain full of mush. I will get the provider to move the range up from the current 6 to 10. Should I change the Cflex settings from 3 to 1 to get more air?

Any help is appreciated.
P.S. Don't you just love this built in spell checking?

Sunshine

Hello Sunshine gal,

I like your user name.

I do not know much about the filters you are the filters you are refering to.

But I did read something about letting the machine run with out being used to air it out. I am not sure you can do that with yours though.
I can do this, I will do this.

Should be possible if the mask off alarm (or auto on or off) are cancelled.

C-Flex is a comfort feature, it will not change the volume of air recieved, as for as filter size, If you want a machine with less size you have to accept a machine with less.

And don't I love this spell check, No I don't, it is so cut down it's almost unuseful. I use ieSpell, on all the other boards, it's five times more useful, but it will not work with phpBB Group powered boards, the only thing it won't work with. It crashes IE.

Welcome to the Forum. Jim
