I recently noticed that during my waking hours (the few I have), whether it be @ my desk @ work, watching tv, or here on the computer, I am breathing like I am using my cpap. Mouth closed (always was a mouth breather before), smooth, rhythmic, calm breathing. Inhaling and exhaling through my nose. Not too fast or too slow, but a little noisy. Anyone else, or is it time for the padded room for me? By the way, not sure who it was but when I first joined this site, someone gave me valuable information regarding proper tongue placement to promote keeping my mouth closed. You will be happy to know, my tongue is usually always in that position. Roof of my mouth with the point right behind my front teeth.

CONGRATS Melissa! Glad the tongue thing is working for you.
I notice the same thing about my wakeful breathing. So, forget the padded room for awhile.
Cheers!

Breathing through your nose is best for your health, the turbinates are able to condition the incoming air better suited for your lungs.
You might also notice any hypertension is lessened by breathing through your nose. There is even a device clincally proven for timing your breaths to lower hypertension, called the Resperate, expensive but if you can control it without drugs I say all the better:
