mask leaks

Post by curtcurt46 » Sat Sep 30, 2006 12:35 pm

I sent a PM by mistake as I wanted the forum to see incase they had any comments.
1- try getting your mask to fit follow the manufactures guide, get the DME rep to help. Ask for fit comments
2- Try another mask. I am on my third on and # 3 works great. It's the Resmed Activa nasal. I also use a sullivan chin strap not put on to tightly and I have no leaks.
you will get it just keep working it.

I've had mine do that a time or two, it all depends on when you do it before it skips to a new page. Mine will show a gap in thereapy.

Looking at your report: You could use a pressure increase, I would in crease it to 7cm and see if you can't get your AI's lower.

James, you're battling two of the main things that can interfere with getting effective treatment -- mask issues and mouth air leak issues. Good luck!

Thanks Rested Gal. After reading your post I put a small nail at the head my bed and use a small rubber band to hold the house up. Its definitely reduced the amount of leaks I had been having. I also bought some 3m Micropore tape and tried the mouth leaking again.

With these two changes I have been able to move up 1cm (to 7) an this has reduced my AHI by almost 2. After a few more days I will try another increase.

Thanks so much for your help.
