FS: ResMed Mirage full face

Post by tracetrimble » Wed Sep 27, 2006 7:26 am

Hey all, first post. Nice forum. I just bought a new CPAP, and it came with a mask that I can tell isn't going to work for me (I use an Ultra Mirage). It's a ResMed Mirage model #16665 full face mask. The headgear looks all there, and I have the original box & paperwork. The seller said it hadn't even been out of the box (yeah right), but it does appear to be brand new. I put it up to my face one time just to see how it fit. Minimal to zero cooties. I can take a pic and email if needed.

Not sure what it's worth, but I know what I've paid for masks before - how about $80 shipped to the lower 48? Let me know if that's way off base pricewise. Not sure how the PM function works on this forum, so just ping me at tracetrimble@yahoo.com and I'll respond quickly.

Thanks for providing this good forum. I also noticed some posts on the insurance lobby / healthcare monopoly of this product, and will be reading more on that.

I'd also be interested in trades for an Ultra. I think mine is size standard, but I'll have to check.

It is a size small standard. How about $70?

Mask arrived today, and if only I was a smoker, it would be perfect. It didn't look much used, and I washed it down, disinfected it. Everything is fine but the cushion, which has a slight yellow cast and is resisting my efforts to take the cigarette smell out of it.
Do you smoke, Trace, or did it arrive this way?
I grant you, the cushion doesn't look used, but I have it buried in a dish of baking soda right now (attempt #3) to get rid of the odor.
If you smoke, any chance I can swap you the cushion for the next one you get for your ultra, BEFORE you take it out of the package?

You do learn things here, yes indeedee.

I guess we all learn the hard way sometimes, but I'd never buy ANYTHING from someone who drops by here with their first posts selling something, in fact if I see those, I delete them as SPAM, if Johnny has a problem with that, I'm sure he'll tell me so.

Gosh, thanks, Snoredog, that makes me feel so much better.

I'm going to try some more techniques to get rid of the odor before I give up, and Trace says he'll give me a refund if I want.

Amen to that !
Basically, I don't care how great of a deal it may be, if I don't see something offered from a regular contributor, I'll pass on it.

I have offered a full refund if she wants it. I also clearly explained my knowledge of its history in my post. Try reading the entire thread before hating next time.

Crew, Trace has offered me my money back, and I believe he offered in good faith. Some people have no sense of smell, and he said he hadn't worn the mask. It does look to be in good condition. I've asked him for half my money back and I'll try buying it a new cushion.
