[quote="dllfo"]I can't seem to get over this naive streak in me, that people are good and honest and that Respironics wouldn't mislead me. DUH!!

I will email the DMEs I have contacted before, one of them was kind enough to get the Respironics tech to call me.

I will call my pulmonologist and insurance people to see if I can just buy them.

Apparently no one on the forum has ever used the HEPA filters. I will email Respironics too.

"CPAP HEPA Filters" is what our hosts called them. Look at the reference on the page for filters.

Respironics calls them Bacteria filters....I wonder why Johnny calls them HEPA?
I ordered them, a set of five. I am curious to see what trash or bacteria they pick up. My insurance said I could get a refund thru them.

Any garbage I find on a filter is one less thing in my lungs.

I even wear a Kelly Moore Painter's respiratory mask outside with two HEPA filters (3M #2091). Everything I filter out helps.

As for hoarding all the good air, I promise you, I only keep what I use
I run ...let me see....5 HEPA filters in the house. I run one in our master bedroom 24/7 to see if I can maintain a positive air pressure in there. I read that rooms which have a positive air pressure have a lot less dust in them.

The word HEPA is tossed around a lot. Maybe Johnny knows something we don't.

Installing Software is like pushing a rope uphill.
I have Encore Pro 1.8.65 but could not find it listed
under software.

I LOVE the SV.

They are listed as:
In-line Outlet Bacteria HEPA Filter for CPAP/BiPAP

Did any body find them on the Respironics site?

I can do this, I will do this.

I have no idea about the bacteria growing and vapours passing through it. I am thinking to myself.

If they are designed for bacteria for multiple machine use then they probably do prevent any bacteria from passing through.

[quote="dllfo"]Bella, thank you so much for posting. I have contacted Respironics, getting little more than the standard phraseology.

I argue with myself, go get them. Respironics designed them, they are specifically mentioned in the providers manual.

Then I think about the comment of have bacterial spores trapped in a warm moist climate...are the fumes passing through, THEN I think...AHA, I have it,
I will run two of them in a row! Wait, then a third one would catch everything,
right? Hmmmm.

I have started to order them two or three times. I run the other two filters.
If we watched them to see when they get dirty, they should do ok.

Decisions, decisions. I wish Respironics would call back so I could check with their techs. I will see my pulmonologist Wed, can order them then I guess.
No one local carries them.

I can do this, I will do this.

Filters

You're right Goofproof. I wasn't thinking clearly when I wrote about the flow rate. I think too that since I have a Synchrony, my bacteria filter is placed in a different location than on the other machines. Mine is attached to the machine, and then to a hose which goes to the humidifier, so moisture shouldn't be an issue.

I'm still sticking with them though. Any bacteria stopped is a bonus. .
