CPAP Compliance

Post by OSAGuy » Sat Sep 23, 2006 11:32 am

After reading some of the prior topics posted here regarding CPAP compliance I should not have been surprised at a comment I received last week. I had surgery on Monday. When the Anestheoligist arrived for his pre surgery visit he looked at my CPAP and just said he was impressed that I actually used it. Then he glanced at the hours shown on the screen of my Remstar Auto and it made him a believer that I really do use it every day (has over 8,500 hours in 1 1/2 months short of three years). He had two comments: 1) Good job on using it; 2) He can;t figure out why so many people are unwilling to take advantage of such a simple solution to get a good night's sleep and improve their health.

Based on some of the comments I saw on some of the posts regarding surgery I was a little concerned, but when I woke up after surgery they had my CPAP ready to go with the water heated.

CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING SO COMPLIANT. I TOO USE MY CPAP FAITHFULLY AND WOULD NOT THINK OF SLEEPING WITHOUT IT. THATS LIKE BEING UNFAITHFUL TO A SIGNIFIGANT OTHER! I THINK IF YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND FROM THE BEGINNNG THAT ITS GOING TO WORK AND MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PUT UP WITH ITS IDIOCYCRANCIES (?SPELLING). GOOD LUCK, PAT
