The Proflie lite Gel nasal mask

Post by Snuffle-nose » Mon Oct 18, 2004 5:54 am

Hi People

I currently use the profile Lite nasal mask, I find it very comfortable as I found out that you can mold the gel molding to the shape of your face. I am fairly small faced person and I found quite comfortable for someone like myself who has a rather small, flat button nose!!!

I have gone thru one mask already and I still stick to this brand as from my opinon that this type of nasal mask suits people with faces like my own As for me I got a small flat button nose. If you got no bridge or a small bridge on your nose some people will find this mask it very comfortable.

I am currently on my 2nd Profile Lite nasal mask [small] I find it very comfortable. But I am sure that anyone has got a mask that they pefer or like better or more then this brand......Or on the other hand, hate more then this brand.

But our aim is remains the same on both the Masks or Nasal pillows: To find a nasal mask or nasal pillows that suits us well and make us comfortable....

In other words the aime is to make CPAP nasal treament a pleasure to sleep with, A bedtime friend you might say......The last thing we want is the person or person[s] endes up feeling that CPAP therapy is more of a hinderance to them, considering that they have gotta wear a mask or nasal pillows whist sleeping at nigh!!
Been on CPAP for a while.....I had moderate apenoa

Snuffle,

I agree with your post. Each of us have a personal preference as to what mask works best for them. It seems to be the Holy Grail of cpap treatment.

I myself, find the Puritan Bennett Breeze Sleepgear with large pillows to be my favorite. I side sleep and it is great for side sleepers and is very stable for me.

Is there anyone else wants to share their preferences? We would love to hear them.

Mask Preference

I've just started with CPAP and purchased the Respironics Comfort-Lite headgear. It comes with both a nasal mask and nasal pillow system. The pillow is a soft silicone thing that just touches your nostril openings. It is very comfortable, light, easily adjusted and, stays on even though I roll around and sleep on one side and then the other. This mask has been the easiest part of CPAP.

I use the Respironics ComfortGel. This is the top end mask they make that takes the features of the Profile Lite and adds on a thin membrane for a great seal.

I can sleep on my side with the mask not tight and still receive a seal. The mask has the gel support inside and can be boiled for a custom fit like the Profile lite if prefered. It also has better forehead support in my opinion.

Like the Profile lite, it is available in petite, small, medium and large. I use small, but a petite size may be perfect for a small button nose.

If your insurance allows periodic mask replacements, try this in addition to your profile lite, I think you may really like it.
