Numbers variance between masks

Post by kteague » Tue Sep 19, 2006 7:46 am

My machine is a ResMed Auto Spirit. Normally I use the Breeze mask, and my AI is almost always 0 and HI around 3 and pressure around 11.5. I have tried to swap out to the Ultra Mirage II nasal mask with the comfortable head straps several times with the same results - my HI this morning was 22 and pressure 8.5. Does this mean the nasal pillows are a better interface for me and would those results like apply to any nasal mask?
Kathy

That's why I like the Encore Pro software, I can see on the graphs when trouble starts and also see what causes it to some extent. Useally the leak rate goes up.

I imagine, if you could, you would see leaks at the same times you had scores. When i use my F & P 431, my numbers go up 300%, the mask fits good but the leak ratio is a little higher. It seems that the mask allows me to snore, and that puts the machine into a pressure race. It's a shame because I like the 431 the best, it just doesn't like me. Jim
