I need advice...

Post by garyland » Fri Sep 15, 2006 1:29 pm

I am not good with confrontation at times so I need some advice. I went to a cpap place locally to get a new ultra mirage II nasal mask to replace my Ultra Mirage that was 14 months old. My health insurance does not cover DME's. So he talked me into trying a full face mask that has a 30 day return policy. He charged me $150 for the mask. Needles to say the mask leaked and made my mouth dry. So I returned it and he suggested the Comfort Lite 2. He said that he would charge the same $150. Well the full face mask is $142 on line, not far off from his $150, but the Comfort Lite 2 is only $85 as is the Ultra Mirage II. So I am paying this guy $65 more for any item other than the full face. I don't know what to do or say. I really don't want to pay that much more when I can get it much cheaper on line. What should I do?

Thanks,
Gary

Don't pay the $150 and buy it online.

Don't go to a local DME in the future.

I guess I did not make myself clear....I already paid the $150 when I got the Full Face which I have already returned. He said he would charge me the same for the Comfort Lite 2.

Return the mask with in the 30 days and demand your money back! Then purchase your mask of choice on-line! Simple!

Would he be willing to give some some other equipment to get your $150 worth---extra pillows or whatever? It sounds like he's got your $150 and doesn't want to give you a refund so the other alternative is find a cheap maks or assessories or something like that. I'm like you - I HATE confrontation too.

Let us know how you go - and best of luck/
