Mask Question

Post by Muddpa » Tue Sep 12, 2006 1:16 pm

Hi Everybody,

I'm looking for a mask that would fit an Afican-American face. Have try pillows will not work for me. Looking for an nasal or a full face with a deep chin pocket. I have a bad case of dry mouth.

Also should I buy the Encore software?

Thank for the help............

Muddpa

Hello Muddpa,

Welcome to the forum.

If you go to https://www.cpap.com/ and type in "full face mask" in the Search box on the right-hand side of the screen, it'll show you a number of them that are available.
I've only used a couple (Ultra Mirage FF and Comfortfull 2) but my favorite is the UMFF (listed below). The problem is, "one person's trash is another person's treasure" in this therapy. Maybe I lucked out and did enough "guessing" before I bought mine that I didn't have to spend a small fortune finding the right one.....

Most of us like to use the software, so that would be my recommendation.

Hang around and do lots of reading and posting....this is a pretty friendly bunch of hoseheads.

Best wishes,

Den

Don't know many masks-but yes-get the card reader and software. Then you can follow and manage your treatment much more effectively.

Hey Den~I resemble that remark (hosehead) And just when I was getting use to my husband calling me "Squidworth" (from Spongebob)

Welcome Muddpa!!!

This is a great site, I spend all my free time here now. CPAP has become my new hobby (how pathetic.. ) But seriously, this is a commitment and we all strive to get it right and we all get by with a little help from our friends. Nasal pillows are frustrating at first, but once you get a good fit, they are great (my opinion), they provide more flexibility in positioning in bed. Good luck and again Welcome!!
