New Respironics headgear?

Post by cwsanfor » Mon Sep 11, 2006 10:56 am

I emailed Respironics this:

"I see at http://www.talkaboutsleep.com/sleep-dis ... adgear.htm that you are offering a new headgear for the ComfortFull 2. When Innomed updated the Hybrid headgear I was given a free headgear. Are you doing the same? Thanks. "

Got this back:

"We currently have no programs in place for replacements to patients. Respironics is not licensed by the FDA to deal directly to patients/users. If you have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact your Home Care Provider or Respironics Customer Service.

Thank you,

Respironics Customer Service
800-345-6443"

Well, this ain't quite like talking to Innomed, eh?

Anybody tried the new headgear?

While Respironics, isn't in the business of serving customers directly, it's nice that changes can be made. They are supposed to be changing the lower strap fasteners on their masks, I don't have a new one but after years of failures, I hope this is correct and they get it right.

However they are in business for profit, If you purchased car "X" and it had standard headlights, and in the middle of a model year, They started to put better headlights on it, would you expect them to recall the first half of production and change them out. It would be nice but in the real world, that's not done unless it a safety defect.

The people who put out the Hybrid, are using customer feedback to improve their product, but they aren't going to change everything for everybody for free, that dried up quick for the most part. They are more accessible because they are smaller and don't have as many corporate roadblocks in place. Big business is usually unresponsive to the little people. Jim
