EncorePro: Why no "Daily Events Per Hour" info?

Post by dllfo » Sat Sep 09, 2006 7:17 am

This has never happened to me before. I got my sleep time, but no data.
AHI=??
90%IPAP=???

No data??????????

Bad night. We live in a semi-rural area and one of the benefits (?) is skunks.
I usually take the puppy out around 10pm, but I was already in bed yesterday. The wife took her out and wears our dog was in her normal "area" when the skunk came running down the hill towards her. This puppy has an IQ that would make Congress blush, she ran for the house. But the skunk sprayed and I gagged the rest of the night. BUT why no numbers? I downloaded it again. Same result.

Also, our masks can't stop the smell of skunk spray...gag. Any ideas? I used the Swift....

The only thing I can say is, When I put the card in the machine, I shine a flashlight on the display and check that the card shows up in the window, I also, now have a second reader installed on a second computer, as a back up if something happens, I stand a chance of by the process of elimation, finding out whats wrong. I know, a lot of trouble, but I'm a data person. As a "X" Mechanic, I have a need to know why, I've never been a parts replacer. Jim

Jim, when you put the card in the machine, you shine a light in the display...
I did not used to do that, but since you mentioned it, I can do that.

If I could get a second reader that used the same software, without paying so much money, I would do that too. I have one reader and I plug it into two separate computers.

IF my card never made connection..no problem, THAT I understand.

What I don't understand is getting only half or one third of the data available.
Additionally Jim, my machine makes a clear, distinct beep when I put the card in. I thought that was the "signal" that the card was set in ok.

If you know of another card reader we can get, that will use the info, please let me know here, or pm or email. I will search for it now.

dllfo,
I couldn't decide whether the skunk's "gift" was still a problem. We found a list of components to build a oder neutralizer for skunk spray. We had one in a live trap in the garden and the neutralizer worked great.

16 oz. hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 tblsp dish liquid

We used a garden pumpup sprayer to apply to the annointed trap and afterward I handled it bare handed with no residual effects.

TerryB,
Thank you for the list, I will check with my wife. We had a Siberian Husky who
pretty much solved our skunk problems.....he made "chewies" out of them.

The smell permeates everything in the house, garage, etc...as you probably know. When I first smelled the skunk, I turned ALL ventilation systems off,
then put my HEPA filter on high for a little bit...to put a positive air pressure on our bedroom.....hopefull keeping outside air...out. Our bedroom did not stink much.

I am changing the filters on our machines, just in case some of the smell is still there. Thanks again....

Two factors is where I got mine, but I wasn't smart enough to get two the first time. I usually have two or more of everything, it keep me able to do what I want to do without being frantic to get something fixed. With two computers and two card readers you can narrow the problem down to the card or the XPAP, given that the software is ok. I would try the reader you have on the other computer first. If you still have a problem It's the reader , or XPAP or Card.

As far as Skunks, a tomatoe juice bath, de-skunks them and clothes. I'm weird, I don't mind skunk smell, I've never been sprayed, But we have a lot of them in surface mining, don't have a clue why. I guess working outside in the wild it's natural.

I just use the light to see the display, it's dark in my cave, I also make sure the card goes in straight. Jim

RG, thanks for the link. I got down to ordering it and saw pay pal. I don't have it. All I have for the moment is Visa.

I have never really needed Pay Pal...until now. I guess I could investigate how much it costs to join, etc. This is the first place I have found that does not accept Visa. Of course that is their decision. But when you and I are dealing with a company we have never dealt with before, it is nice to know VISA is there to protect me if the shipment is lost, etc.

Thanks, I have a buddy with pay pal, I might just get im to order it and I can pay him....Dave

dllfo,
It doesn't cost anything to join paypal... I did it for the few times that I buy things on ebay. Just attached a credit card to it.

Dropped Data

Post by Jerry69 » Sun Sep 10, 2006 8:20 pm

dilfo,

Wish I could help. I read my card about every two weeks, now. Last time I read it, the Daily Details were absent for the first week. I don't recall doing anything to the card that would explain why it read okay the second week. Not the first time, either.

Jerry

The card holds months of compliance data, but it only holds 7 days of full data. longer than 7 days and it over writes the oldest day. I used to only trust it for 6 days. Also when you write a prescription. (Change machine types or pressures) It clears the card. Jim

Those who use pay pal, do they have a "favorite" card? Visa? American Expess? AND is there a card they will not accept? We use VISA for EVERYTHING but Costco. They like American Express, so I got my 1st one there.

We had ID theft around FEb 2002 and it was a NIGHTMARE getting all the cards canceled. Sears flat kept sending a card the next year. We would cancel, the next year came and....so I really hate getting too many cards.

I will check with them...thanks

dllfo,
PayPal definitely accepts Visa. I always pay for online purchases with a Visa, even (and especially) when I use PayPal. If something goes wrong with an online purchase, a chargeback is always an option. I've only ever had to do that once, however, out of lots and lots of online purchases (its how I do most of my shopping).

That being said, I also bought my reader from two factors, and got quick shipping and a card reader that has lasted well over a year without a single problem so far (hope I didn't just jinx myself! )

Good luck!

Thanks for the info College Girl. Due to the morphine I take, driving is not an option most of the time. So making more and more purchases "On line" is a way of life. MOST business's seem to go out of their way to do everything right. With a few exceptions of course. Our host was excellent on all the purchases I made here.

I will contact PayPal now I guess, get it out of the way. It might be a good idea to put a "Visa" card online with a small amount?

Here is a thought. Who pays for pay pal? They cannot work for free. So does the buyer? Seller? Pay a charge to them???

Thanks again

The seller pays, it's probably set by percentage like a auction is, sellers even have to pay the CC companies a %, is a cost of doing business. Then they try to rip it back off us in higher shipping and handleing. Jim

If your in N.Y., you have to pay the Teamsters.
