Hi, Resmed Germany announced the new Swift II some days ago
They modified the Nasal Pillows System, by removing the exhale-ports from the pillow-sleeve, placing the ports on the pillow-frame.
At the same time the amount of exhale-ports(holes) have been increased, but are smaller in size. Resmed claims that this new design is producing less noise.
The smaller holes act as kind of a diffusor, so the airstream will be wide-spread and will have less effect on you or your partner.
As far as I could see the headgear/tubing stills the same.
No Price-Information was made available.
I didn't found any information on resmed.com, so I'll set a link to the german video/documents.

Very Interesting!
Having returned the Swift, I think it is wise of ResMed to tweak the exhale ports. That is one of the best differences I found in the CL 2, so I'm glad that ResMed has seen the light.
Now if they will only see the light regarding their new online pricing policy....

The headgear, the small hose and the plug look identical to the Swift I. I wonder if the new frame, sleeve and pillow can be retrofitted. Do the German materials mention anything about that? I think this will be huge for Swift fans.
Also, I wonder why introduce it in Germany. Is it that big a market compared to the US?

Placed an order for SwiftII parts
Update 13.09.2006
Hi,
after I compared both assembly manuals from the swift I+II, I'm/ convinced that there should be no prob in replacing some of the SwiftI-parts with the new SwiftII parts.
So.... I send an email to my insurance-supplier and....
Dear Mr....... we are sorry to inform you, that the new Swift2 is not available on the German market. etc. etc.
Reading MandoJohnnys post I really wonder why they announce the SwiftII (only) at Resmed-Germany, telling there suppliers to say that the new mask is not available in Germany
I'm puzzled
Greetings from Germany.
