3 Week upgrade

Post by jnickellrental » Wed Sep 06, 2006 6:06 pm

Tonight will be my first night on my cpap and from what I have found on here it is a pretty basic unit. They told me when I go back in 3 weeks they will be giving me a new model to keep that is much smaller. I have read alot about c-flex should I ask for that, what about software? If they do not have software should can I buy it somewhere else, and where can I buy it?

While this is my first post on here I wanted to thank everyone for their questions and answers. I have been reading this forum for the last 4 weeks. (ever since I was diagnosed) Everyones input on the posts has helped me immensly through the process. So, THANKS!!

Josh

Welcome, jnickellrental!
You're so right about the people here "helping me through the process!" I feel the same way! Just think, from this point on, you will also be helping others as you share your experiences!!!
As far as c-flex, keep reading here and maybe you can gather more info that will help you determine if you want to insist on such a feature. My first auto did not have c-flex and I was fine. But, when I purchased my second apap (for travel/backup) I wanted the c-flex option. After using c-flex, I know now that it will continue to be a feature that will insist upon! Makes exhales so seemless!!!!

Woops! ... forgot to reply to your question(s).

Most insurance will not pay for the software setup. You will need a card reader to transfer the data from your machine to your PC ... Software + card reader costs around $200 to $225 ... and you may need to get a card too if you don't already have one (should come with your machine).

If you demand the better quality machine, it will likely come with the c-flex ... al least on the Resperonics machines. Its called EPR on the ResMed machines (although EPR is disabled while in auto mode for APAP machines). Your need for this will depend on how high a pressure you are prescribed.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

First you have to get a model that provides more than compliance data, you expect to get a better machine, what they plan on getting you is the cheapest they can pass off on you.

If you do get a machine that can make use of the software, it can be purchased from cpap.com.

I would have them get a Remstar APAP with HH, or the Remstar Pro 2, They will probably want to give you a Remstar "M"agic, a low model that only shows compliance data.(useless data) Jim Watch Them, Don't fall for it.

Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
