Just got registered and logged on...I've had my CPAP about 3 weeks....I too start to bed with it....sometimes I wake up with it on and sometimes I don't....my wife is thankful the snoring is gone...I was told I have mild apnea, will state the numbers if needed....how do I know if it is doing me any good? I still wake up once a night, at least, for a bathroom trip....I really did not feel that tired before I was diagnosed and I sleep about the same....but if it's helping me I will keep using it....I have friends who swear by their cpap's but I'm far from there today.....I was given a REMstar plus M series by the sleep company....I guess it will take time to get use to it but I would like to know that it's working and more than just a snore-stopper....

Welcome! I've only had my cpap for 4 weeks. I almost immediately noticed an improvement in my daytime sleepiness, but starting to notice a little decline...I'm having problems with my mask, I think. This is an awesome place to gather info. What type of mask are you using?

In order for someone to answer your questions ... you need to provide more info. You should have/get a copy of your sleep study report. It will tell you what your diagnosed AHI (Apnea-Hypopnea Index) was and that can be compared to how the CPAP is doing for you. You may also need to know what proportion of your AHI were apneas and hypopneas. May want to know if you had any central apneas and/or mixed apneas.
It does take time to find a mask that fits you best and learn to get used to it.
As for your trip(s) to the bathroom, it may not be related to your apnea issues at all and instead be a prostate issue.
Take care and do ask lots of questions no matter how silly they may seem.
