Resmed Mirage Swift Nasal Pillow System question

Post by dwells2 » Sat Feb 12, 2005 11:24 am

Is the Swift a pillow system, like the Breeze, or a prong system like the Nasal Aire II? It's hard to tell from the photos.

I love the swift, which comes with 3 pillow sizes. They are pillows, not prongs.

dwells2,

I use the Swift and love it. How do you like the nasalaire II? It looks like another lightweight alternative if you can tolerate the prongs.

I love the Nasal Aire II, the prongs are no problem to me. As a matter of fact when I first received it I was a bit put off by the size of the prongs (Medium Plus) and I ordered a Medium insert. The medium, although comfortable, was too small and leaked.

I tried a Breeze, with both medium and large pillows, but no matter how I adjusted it it caused uncomfortable pressure on both my upper lip and nares. It also woudn't stay in place as I rolled from side to side during the night.

I have seen several posters who call both of these interfaces noisy. I must be lucky that I'm hard of hearing, because both seem quiet to me.

I was asking about the Swift because, even Though I love the NAII, I am considering trying it. The grass always looks greener...

I was using the Ultra Mirage nasal mask, now have tried Mirage Swift nasal pillow system. Second night and I love them!

Easily adjustable and hardly remember the night, sleeping like a baby....

I had problems with the Breeze moving back and forth on my head and sideways. Just knew it was breaking my hair like crazy. Also couldn't get it in any position where it wasn't exerting extreme pressure on my upper lip. And the vent was aimed right at my husband if I slept on my left side.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Swift. No pressure on upper lip, just the headbands on the head and they don't even have to be snug. no leakages, no matter what position I sleep in, a snap to clean, and nothing over your face to make you go cross-eyed or look like Hannibal Lector.
