Hi everyone:
I'm sure this topic has been covered a million times, but here goes. I'm used the F&P Aclaim 2 nasal mask, and really like it except for one thing. I can't seem to eliminate the redness on the bridge of my nose when I wake up in the morning. I've adjusted the straps ad infinitum, and also changed from the small outer seal to the larger one, but still no luck. I've also tried putting a small band-aid on before I put the mask on, but this seemed to make it worse. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanx,
Steve.

Redness on bridge of nose
"The longest journey begins with one step."
Put some mole skin on the mask. Or I used some breathable medical tape on my nose for a bit until it cleared up, 3M makes one that's quite good, you can even use it if your skin is wet. Problem is your mask is too tight.
I don't have a problem now and haven't used the tape in a bit, my new mask does a wonderful job.

KILL A MOLE AND SCALP IT!!!!
(Dr. Scholl's Moleskin. Available in any drugstore, most supermarkets. Put the sticky side on the mask, where its irritating you.)
Cheers!

cpap leaving reddness on top of nose?
I had to switch to a nasal CPAP machine. I have never felt better nose wise with it.
Ask to change nose adapter.
Re: Redness on bridge of nose
I used to have the same problem. Ironically, the mask that bothered me most was Respironics Comfort Gel. I have a permanent scar on the bridge of my nose from that experience. Some of the advice others have given, such as tape, moleskin, etc., may work...but in my case the BEST solution was switching to Resmeds Mirage Activa.northernlights wrote:Hi everyone:

Several of Resmeds masks, such as the Activa, have an adjustable hinge at the bridge which allows you to keep the appliance AWAY from the bridge of your nose. This has been the greatest thing for me, and has been by far the MOST comfortable mask I've tried (out of seven)
Good luck.
