finally getting a new mask
finally getting a new mask
Hi Can anyone help me decide what masks to look at. I am a side and stomach sleeper, have a bit of a time with leaks. i have a remstar-auto and have two more years before medicare will let me get a new machine. I am using ultra mirage now. Also I just had a cpap study and the tech said maybe i should not use a nasal mask because I am now up to 14 and I was using the breeze in the study, THANKS KILRUSH_

My first mask (5 mos.) was the Nasil Aire II, and I was also a 10 starting out. I am a side/stomach sleeper.
I love it. I since have bought a second regular mask, but I use my Nasal Aire II 95% of the time. Sometimes you just need a change.
I find it very comfortable, and usually wake up and can't even tell it is in and working, until I open my mouth.
Good luck.................

I'm a side sleeper - the Breeze is my favorite. It's good to get nasal pillows a size larger than you'd think you might need (or that a DME would say "fit you".) Breeze pillows that are "too large" seem to seal better for most people, staying comfortably more outside the nose - not crammed up into the nostrils. The Breeze stays "put" better on some people if the side straps are worn much lower than shown in ad pictures.
Rig a way (hook, bungee cord, whatever) to hang the main hose up above your head so that it doesn't pull or tug on your mask. That's useful for with any mask - not just the Breeze. Picture a fish flipping from side to side on the end of a slack line as you think of how to hang the main hose out of your way.

rested gal & MartiniLover Thank you for your advise. I did use the breeze and used it for my cpap study. The tech thought I was having leaks because the # went to 14. He thought it might be the pressure causing the leak. I wonder if anyone had that problem? I also used the nasalaire ll, I had a hard time keeping it tight enough but it was very good. That was the one I was using when I got contact dermatitis and had to stop using it and went to the breeze. THANKS AGAIN kilrush_

my input...
I use the Mirage Ultra nose mask. Been looking at other masks. Finally tried the Mirage Swift, using the large pillows and LOVED IT so far.
