My family doctor tested me once and I was 93 or 94. Very good. Then I bought my own Pulse-Oximeter and my cardiolgist says it is pretty accurate compared to his equipment. The pulse indicated on my pulse-oximeter is also very accurate.
I did not have this info the last time I asked my pulmonologist about it.
I get up and walk around, then sit down and my head is weaving and bobbing in a couple of minutes. I walk around, I wave my arms and so on. Still very sleepy.
Too sleepy to spell also.. How did you get your doctor's attention?
Frustrated with feeling like I am falling asleep all day.

** dllfo originally stated that his blood pressure was between 83-87 **
Dillfo: 83-87 is low, as is anything below the desired 90.
Are you exerting when it reads 83? Or simply at rest in your chair?
If you're sitting on your chair, and have been, then it should NEVER read that low!
Mine will read, say, 78 with exertion, but is in 80's at rest.
Your family doc should know that that's not a good reading, since he/she has your history, and not rely exclusively on the pulmonary doctor. (pass off, due to holiday?)
You'll need a Rx for oxygen.
If you're feeling that bad, get to the 24-hr care facility, or go to the emergency ward - hopefully someone else will drive you there, as you really don't want to take a chance on driving under the 'nodding off' condition that you're experiencing now.
Also, it'll be getting dark soon, even on the west coast, so find someone asap who can help you.
I'm sorry, but that's about all I can offer. Yes, you do need oxygen.

Thank you....I wasn't sure that I wasn't over reacting. I just took my morphine a few minutes ago, I KNOW it depresses my respiratory system.
But these readings were before that. I love my Bipap...after getting up it reads up to 98 on my pulse oximeter. And I feel much better.
I took a reading about 20 minutes ago. 85. I walked in to use the "facilities" and walked back. About 60 feet. I am still real sleepy I am 83/71 right this second.
EDIT: I am more awake now, when I said I was 83/71, I was reading off of the SPO 5500, 83% oxygen in my blood and BP of 71.
I was beginning to think I was worrying about nothing...over reacting, because I told my family doctor my blood oxygen was in the mid 80s and he shrugged his shoulders like......SO??? Big deal.
But sitting around all day falling asleep is not normal for me. I told my cardilolgist the same thing and he was more concerned, but wasn't exactly excited about it. My Pulomologist is out of town, so I told the lady who answers the phone I wanted to speak to a nurse. 5pm came and no answer.
Thank you for letting me know I wasn't going off the deep end.
I wish I could buy oxygen. Stinking AMA wants to be God at times. They even tried to get rid of our guns, saying they were a health hazard. You can probably buy oxygen in Canada without a prescription, but the shipping would eat me alive. Any ideas??
I was so sleepy last night I messed up a batch of fudge!!!!!!!! THAT is serious when I mess my fudge up.
Thanks for the suggestions
