Hey everyone! Just a couple ?'s

Post by MissAmethyst2U » Tue Aug 29, 2006 6:36 am

Ok so I know I haven't been around in FOREVER lol so HI to everyone I havn't spoke with in the past few months I now WORK (Yay! for me lol) After all my anxiety issues over the year I finally am doing the job I always wanted but never thought I would be able to handle...I am a 911 Dispatcher and I LOVE my job! Adjusting to LONG 12 hr shifts and nights at that has been the biggest thing. So now that I am in the eat sleep and work catagory thanks to everyone here who has been a GREAT support to me with life and things and a BIG THANKS to Lori!

So anyway, back to the original post here...I am doing well with CPAP and my trusty CC mask that I oh so love. My question is I am finding that I cann't possibly ever again sleep without CPAP. I was a lucky one as far as adjusting to CPAP without ever missing a night as I have been on CPAP for a yr and a half now and only missed two nights and that was at the beginning. Now I find that if I even attempt to lay down and relax my body just won't breathe. This kinda freaks me out! Its like I HAVE to have CPAP to sleep or I just wont breathe. Is this something our bodies just get sooo used to? I mean like I went to a friend of mine's police academy graduation and my dad drove and like o n the way home I fell asleep cause I had worked the night before and had to work that night and not even 10 mins later I woke up from not breathing and I was sitting upright! I get soo darn mad sometimes about t his cause like a lot of the ppl on my shift will crash on the couch in our lounge at work during their lunchbreak cause we are spoiled and get an hr and a half for lunch but when you take lunch at 1am there isn't anything to do at that hr ya know. I know I can't lay down and sleep cause of this.

I am supposed to have another sleep study sometime soon so I think I might go ahead and set that up and just see how well I am doing on my pressure. Obviously if I can stay awake for a 12 hr shift then go to the gym and breakfast I am n ot doing too bad considering how i used to be lol.

Also, I have noticed I have this sore right inside my nose. I thought it was like a pimple at first but its been a month or so now and wont go away and now it seems worse and really hurts! I rarely use my NA11 mask so I don't see how it could be from the cpap. Anyone else get little sores or anything? Anyone know how to make it better? lol

One last thing, this new Hybrid mask? How is it? Looks cool but I have only had time to read a little bit about it. Would love to hear about that as well...

Hope everyone is doing well! Sorry this post became sooo long...

Wow, me too ! It's very annoying, not being able to see it or be able to treat it like a zit, or whatever it is.
