I've recently switched from a partial to a full face mask. Last night, my wife awakened me to tell me that I had been snoring. The mask appears to sealed reasonably well. Is snoring under these conditions unusual? Is it possible that my CPAP should be set at a higher air pressure?
CPAP adjustment needed?
it depends on how you feel. If you don't feel like you are getting the rest you need you might want to explore a slight pressure increase.
The snoring definitely shows you mouth breathe and the FF mask was a good idea. but it is not necessary and sometimes nearly impossible to fully eliminate all snores.
If a straight cpap you may try a 1cm pressure increase and see what happens, if you sleep deteriorates you may want to go back to your current pressure. If your current pressure is your sweet spot found by the PSG lab then increasing by 1cm could make things worse.
During a PSG they would try and eliminate those snores but sometimes they cannot without causing other arousals. Snores are not usually associated with a SAO2 drop so it is not critical they eliminate them, but snores can contribute to cortical arousals sometimes seen as spontaneous arousals.
