I have been away from the message boards for a couple of weeks and don't know if this has been posted before. It is a link to a contest being run by Resmed for those who use their masks and flow generators. It was delivered to my emailbox, so I'm passing it along.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger. It may be the last chance anyone has to have Resmed give something to the consumer out of their own pockets.

Thank for the Link! I used it to a advantage. I sent:

No Thanks, If you cause Internet suppliers to raise the cost to their customers, US, There will never be any Resmed products in my home, and if I have my say, none of my friends or assocates either. I will spread the word about companies that treat the real consumers like they don't matter.

Jim,

AH HAH......YOU'RE the one who changed their minds about increasing Internet pricing. Good job!

Lori,

Thanks for the link. We wouldn't shoot you.
I've never signed up for the "My ResMed" access, mainly because I didn't trust their "Privacy Policy".

Take care,

I know....
Better together because other company masks don't work well with your machine because you have no settings to accommodate them.

Did I win? Hugh, did I?

Enter the Better Together Contest

Share your Better Together story and win!

OK, here's my story:

Once upon a time I looked at MyResMed.com

I saw pictures of beautiful, active people frolicking under white clouds in a blue sky.

I saw these happy words:

"Your partner on the road to healthy sleep."

I saw the "Better Together" contest.

I thought about the words, "Better Together."

Hmmmm, did ResMed machines and I get along "better together" than other brands of machines I've used?
Welll, nooo. I've gotten every bit as good or better treatment from other brands.

Did using a ResMed mask with a ResMed machine work "better together" for me?
Welll, nooo. I've gotten better treatment using other manufacturers' masks with a ResMed machine.

So what does "Better Together" really mean?

I thought about less soothing words I've seen from ResMed.

POWAY, Calif. - ResMed plans in September to implement strict new quidelines--including mandatory minimum pricing--intended to bring law and order to the Wild West approach some online retailers take when selling CPAPs.

"We are going to be strict about enforcement of our Internet policy," said Hillary Theakston, director of communications. "If we find that an Internet dealer is not in compliance, then we will stop selling to them; it's as straight forward as that,"

Mandatory minimum pricing....

ResMed wants to take away the attraction of internet stores' lower prices to try to encourage me to walk into a higher priced local brick-and-mortar home health care provider store. To heck with the many uninsured people who have to buy all their medical supplies out of their own pockets.

Ahhhhh....I understand!

"Better Together" means ResMed and the traditional DMEs do more profitable business "Better Together".

One might say, "Hand in Glove."

Or "I'll Scratch Your Back, You Scratch Mine."

Gee, I think online stores that sell excellent Respironics and Puritan Bennett and Aeiomed and DeVillbiss and Fisher & Paykel products at lower prices work Better Together with me!
ResMed S9 VPAP Auto (ASV)
Humidifier: Integrated + Climate Control hose
Mask: Aeiomed Headrest (deconstructed, with homemade straps

Hey, I'll enter! I own a ResMed mask although I don't use it, but I'll do anything to try to win something. It would be an extra machine to use in case of equipment failure or to travel with. Not a bad idea to have a backup and I already use a ResMed S8 Elite. Of course, they only say they are giving away a ResMed S8 flow generator. It's probably the cheapest one that has no bells and whistles, the Escape. Either way, it would be a free backup machine so I'll give it a try!

Thanks LI, for the cool link. I did my best to win. My wife says I will not because I spelled, Resmed "Mesled" by accident. I can't believe the competition will be that tough. Do you think I should resend? I can't really remember all I said. Something about fairness, morals, and decency I think. Sure sounded good whatever it was. Oh well.

Rested gal, that was an absolutely brilliant post!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your contest submission was well-written, factual and honest. I think you have a great shot at winning the prize!!!! I hope you do, because I would love to see your BETTER TOGETHER story "in future ResMed marketing materials, such as on the web or in magazine and journal advertisements."

Keeping my fingers crossed. Good luck!

Dear Rested Gal,

You rite nice and Resmed and me better together is hard. Would you mind if I sort of borrow some of your lines and try again? I really want to win and since there are five prizes, well we can both be winners!

Resmed says the prize is worth $900. I am wondering, is this before or after the price increase? Should I ask them? They seem nice.

Better together???? I let them know how "better" it was not to be able to purchase because I am Canadian.

Informed them of a few more things too, politely of course, but in no uncertain terms that I would never again purchase a resmed product because of their recent policies.
