Are you using MyEncore? Length of apneas and a whole lot of other stuff is available from it.

Hi Den-

I think Wulfman is right; I've only been able to find an average apnea figure in the table of statistics of the EncorePro. I've also been using Derek's MyEncore 1.5B7 program with EncorePro 1.6i, but there are problems in this latest version of MyEncore. Several sets of data don't show up in the graphs, including length of apneas. I posted about this problem weeks ago and have seen others post about it as well but haven't seen any replies that give a fix. But thanks for the suggestion.

My post to Guest was to address improvements to EncorePro. I presume if Guest is doing some field research for Respironics, she/he already knows what MyEncore can do.

Best,

Chris

I have a REMstar Pro M-Series, considering the Auto M... what's this about the non-user-replaceable battery in there and a non-user-settable? I'll have to ship these units back to the FACTORY someday for battery replacement and time setting, pay through the nose for that, and risk handling damage to/from there?

Is this true? Is Respironics that nuts? Is this another "guaranteed follow-up money" scam like with the IPod, the Palms and all the other electronic devices with non-user-replaceable batteries that eventually die?

If so, horrible decision, just horrible. User-replaceable battery and user-settable time are TRIVIAL to do, unless you're greedy and want extra revenue in the future.

So what's the deal?

The unit is under warrenty for two years,(No Charge)
Oh, wonderful! And what about after that, hmmm?
Your computer has a battery in it, do you think it will last forrever, check the warrenty on your computer motherboard.
Um, yes, and it uses an incredibly common button battery I can pick up myself at any store, and it's in plain sight so I can also replace it myself in about one minute.

I'm not complaining about "it has a battery!", I'm complaining about "it has a battery that only the factory can change!"

Oh, and I can set the time on my computer rather easily too... again not requiring a trip to the factory.

I'm quite irked, the more I think about this.

Most people wouldn't be able to replace the battery in their computers themselves, and ever get it to work again, without someone else repairing the damage. many electronics have non-removeable batteries, It also has no user replaceable fuses, basically it has no user replaceable parts inside at all. This is because most user, have trouble controlling the operation of their opposable thumbs.

The battery is suppose to last for 5 years, I'm not sure what the clock has to do with the machine running and doing it's job , probably very little, but feel free, to find a brand that uses replacable batteries, and a user adjustable clock on it, let is know if you find any.

I find the fact it only comes in black more of a issue, Robin Egg Blue would have been nice. Jim
