[quote="Tom140ph"]......................
I nod off every day at work. Not a day passes when I do not fall asleep at my desk. It has always been embarassing and really upsetting to me.
Today I have not, nor have I any desire to nod off.
I have more energy and can think more clearly.

First Night
My imagination has been piqued.Tom - The best thing to prevent the forehead bruising is to go to Pad A Cheek and buy her forehead pads.
I have an extra pair of gel sole inserts I am going to cut up and somehow affix to the headgear. If it works I'll be a happy camper.
Thank you all for your ideas and support. It means alot to me.
That is horrible leadership from your last 2 employers. My last two employers have canned me because of sleeping at work.
I'm sure it wasn't like a George Castanza move like having a carpenter build a hidden bed under your desk. (gawd how I would have loved one of those!)
Luckily my boss and peers accept that this is a medical condition and I am doing what it takes to correct the problem.
Sleep tight!

3rd night the mask was much more comfortable.
I cut 2 rectangles out of the gel inserts and slipped them in front of the plastic rubber supports on the headgear after strapping the mask on.
Talk about night and day!
Very comfortable.
Now I just need to figure out how to make it permanent.
I had to get up in the middle of the night, forgot about the inserts and removed my mask. I saw one of the inserts this morning on the floor. I'll find the other when I get back home.
I am thinking of sewing them on.
Still not feeling quite as rested as the first day. Not sure why.
I don't remember having any problems with leakage last night.
I cut up a pair of my wifes pantyhose (thanks dear!) which actually kept the mask in a comfortable sealed position.
Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon with the way I feel in the morning.
Still waiting to wake up with a "GOOD MORNING WORLD!" attitude which now seems crazy. But I still have the rest of the week
Oh, one other thing...
Since starting on the CPAP, it takes forEVER to get my eyes to stay open after I wake. Extremely sensitive to light. Anyone else experience this?
Again, thanks for walking with me on my new journey.

I have trouble with that for a hour or so but I just chalked it up to Diabetes problems and the drugs I take. Maybe it's not all that. JimTom140ph wrote:

I'm having the same problem staying awake and waking fully in the morning. Before CPAP, I used to bound out of bed, wide awake from the minute my feet hit the floor. Now, it's a struggle to pull myself up into a vertical position and, even when I'm in the shower, I'd rather be back in bed. I chalk it up to sleeping more deeply now (0% REM sleep on my initial sleep study) and it taking longer to come out of it.
