Anyone else playing the didgeridoo to help with apnea?

I don't play the didge, but I think it's great. In addition to the mandolin, I play the harmonica, which is also supposed to help with breathing, and I find that it does. I also play the guitar and I dabble with the lap dulcimer and the Irish bodhran drum. I think any instrument can help with apnea, because if you approach music with the right attitude it relieves stress, and I think stress is every bit as big a component of dealing with apnea as is XPAP machines, masks, DMEs and doctors. Just my two cents, and worth every penny!

I have a whole PVC band-the staff hates it when I take it to the local school-but there is one guy who can get real music out of the stuff. May try this in my spare time-looked at the LA outback site-those are beautful didjes but right now I'm doing some bedroom remodeling and BC/BS won't pick any of it up in spite of being allergy related.

Just got my first didgy! UPS show'd up with a tall box and I knew what it was. It is so beautiful and I can already get the droning sound and some coyote-like sounds even though I've only been playing for an hour!!! I got mine from LA Outback, too. The man there really helped me pick out one that would be perfect and he was right. I was diagnosed with OSA over 4 years ago and my doctor, who plays the Native American flute, said I should try taking up an instrument like that for multiple reasons (stress, better breathing, etc.) but I didn't want to have to learn the fingering or memorize songs. The didgy is perfect because I just pick it up and start playing whatever I feel like. Now I can see why this is good for breathing, but I've transfered my stress to the cat, who is only now starting to walk past me as I play. Oh well, I'm just starting.
I have similar concerns about the stress level of my cat if and when I take up this new instrument. She wasn't wild about the accordion during it's 6-week stay in my home. But, as a wise man once told me "The true definition of a gentleman is a man who can play the accordion, but chooses not to!"
After 9 weeks, the cat is just now becoming accustomed to the CPAP hose that shares our bed. For the first few weeks, she wouldn't even come into the bedroom when the machine was on, but now she seems bored by it all.
Ahhh, to be a cat!

Cats
none of my three cats have ever not come into the room
because of my machine. one of them will bat at the
mask if it blews on him, but only once or twice
we will see about the didge ... mine is coming monday
that might be good for several hisses and a hiding under
the bed for a while
but we know who the boss is

Whooooah!!!! Got my didge today from L.A.Outback. I must say that I have been giddy all day, and I keep laughing about the very first sounds I was getting out of it. Now, about two hours later, I can actually hear the proper "drone" sound coming out. I was trying too hard and blowing to strong. It really takes very little air to get the drone. Now I can play for about 30 seconds in one breath. Day one is setting but tomorrow I should start working on my first CD
I highly recommend the gang at L.A.Outback. They picked out a good one for me and with the instruction video and shipping I spent about $240 (I picked an unpainted eucalyptus didge). The shakuhachi flute I almost bought last month was going to cost me $870 so didgeridoos are at least cheaper and more fun. I think I'll just buy another two didges and start a collection of these cool sticks.
If you want help or have questions about the didge call Barry at L.A.Outback. There website is: http://www.laoutback.com

Congrats on your didgeridoo. I started this thread a while back and I'm so happy to read all of the good responses. I've started listening to didgeridoo music at night, too. The drone of the didge creates a sort of harmony with the hum and buzz of my machine. I bought a CD called "Brain Massage" by Logrhythm when I got my didgeridoo. It is very calming and dreamy didgeridoo music with cello, harp and natural sounds like whales and crickets. Here's a link to the page where you can find the CD and there's a sound file that you can play to hear what it sounds like: http://www.laoutback.com/music/shop/store5.html
