Sleepyhead Help

OK I installed The program, Couple things, I an trying to learn this, but Any Idea why it keeps crashing?
Keeps saying It "Has stopped"
So I can't seem to get anywhere.
I am wondering, I clicked Import, and it shows an progress bar. When I click statistics, there are none.
Do I have to use a card reader?
It says to read protect the card, so I have to unlock it before installing back in CPAP machine, (If I need to remove it and re install it)
Or is it supposed to read the card wireless.
Like I said, I'm trying to read the help browser, But like I said, The program keeps crashing.
I am trying to read Puggys pointers in the meantime.
Please Help.
Saturday Night, I said, "This isn't working(CPAP) didn't wear it. Slept great.
I said Maybe I don't need this. Well didn't use it Sunday night, But this time had an awful night.
So I'd like to get this program working.
My doctor at the last meeting said, Just the usage was on the paper, He said he didn't have and record of events.

Respironics machines don't care if the SD card is locked (write protected) or not.
In fact the only cpap machines that do care are the ResMed S9 models.

Have no idea why your software keeps crashing.
Card readers are only needed if you don't have a slot for SD cards on your computer.
Unless you are using a special WiFi SD card you have to remove the SD card from the cpap machine and put it in your computer.

Can you look on the bottom of the machine for a model number...starts with DSX then 3 digits and then some letters.
What are the 3 digits?
Either 200, 400 or 500 most likely...they go higher but doubt you have that model.

Ok, I'll go look at the machine now.
I don't think my computer has a Card reader built in, so I'll have to use the USB Card reader.
I'm Probably going to save Data starting this week. I am supposed to get yet another mask today or tomorrow.
OK, So Of the machine Don't care, I should still lock it before I put it in my computer Or I don't have to?

I don't lock my SD card.

Here's the reason for the locking warning. ResMed S9 machines have to have the SD card just a certain way or else they will give you an invalid SD card warning and won't accept the SD card.

Some computers (Windows 8.xx and higher and some Macs) add a little text file to the SD card when you insert the SD card into the computer (or use an adapter to attach it via the USB port)...and it's that little file that the S9 machines object to. That little file doesn't really hurt anything but the S9 doesn't/won't accept a SD card that has that little file. Locking the SD card prevents that little file from being put on the SD card but in reality....if your cpap machine doesn't care about the little file...you can either lock the card or not because it won't matter. It only matters if you are using a S9 model ResMed machine.
Respironics machines have never cared no matter what the model and the new ResMed AirSense/AirCurve 10 models don't care (I have an AirCurve 10 and it doesn't care).

You won't be able to import any data into SleepyHead until SleepyHead can see that SD card and if you don't have a slot for it then you must use one of the USB ports and get an adapter/card reader. So that's likely why there's nothing in statistics...SH hasn't been able to find your SD card yet.

The DSX500 model is a full data machine. I asked just to confirm that you have what you think you have and there's data on that card for SH to get. Just wanted to make sure the "nothing on statistics" wasn't because the machine didn't offer anything.

Any SD card reader/adapter will work. Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Just something to plug into a USB port and plug the SD card into the other end.

Now there is a way to do the WiFi transfer of data to SleepyHead but that involves a whole new very special type of SD card and another software program. I have never bothered. I am lazy and never wanted to do the extra work setting it all up for WiFi plus that very special SD card is fairly pricey.

I have a Card reader, I got my new mask too, so I will Get (try to ) get some Data posted.
Is about 3 days worth Enough?

If all the nights are pretty much the same...only need 1 typical night..
If wide variations are seen...need a "good" night and a "bad" night....and maybe a "typical" night.

I'll do 2 then I think.
Funny that 1st night with out Cpap, l slept pretty well,
2nd night, (last night) about 1 hour, BAM! woke up.
Then after that it was "stressful dreams city".
Oh, I confirmed with the tech, I am on the variable pressure.
Low of 10, high of 15.
Is that APAP, or is APAP a different machine?

That is what we call APAP.
APAP is actually auto adjusting positive airway pressure
APAP machines can do both CPAP mode (which is continuous positive airway pressure) or the apap mode where the pressures will auto adjust within whatever parameters have been set.

In your case with 10 low and high of 15 the machine starts out at 10 (assuming no ramp or ramp has been used up) and then as the night goes on the machine will auto adjust the pressure as it senses the needs and will go to 15 if needed but no higher.
It might spend most of the night at 11 or it might spend most of the night at 13 and it might or might not ever hit 15.

I haven't pushed you yet for software reports because you have been mainly having problems even sleeping or using the machine all night...so not much to look at if your software reports are only showing 1 or 2 hours of use.
Gotta use the mask first before we wonder if the settings are even close to working.

I understand. Well, right!
It seems like I was waking up all the time, and Taking it off, and couldn't get used to it.
Or couldn't fall asleep, and just took it off.
I will keep trying.

Oh, and the woman from the DME supply said the events WERE on the paper the dr. got, so Maybe he don't even know what he is doing,
and just relies on the sleep study reports, and says, yeah, You have Sleep Apnea.

If you are having a big problem getting to sleep, we sometimes suggest reducing you starting or minimum pressure a little bit.

Continue to work on the current 10-15 for a few more days, but if too hard, suggest reducing minimum pressure to 8 cm.

Sleeping and masking Are the two most important factors.

Thank you GGF well, they did actually set it down to 8 for a while, but @ 8, it actually felt like I had the mask on, with the machine off.
Too bulky and hot, IDK, just didn't feel right at all.
So I had them set it back to low of 10.
Does that make sense?
