Compact dishwasher for CPAP cleaning?

So . . this might be a dumb idea but bear with me.

As I sure you will agree, everyone in the CPAP world cleans their mask, hoses, etc. as recommended and scheduled by the manufacturer. I'm sure I'm the only one that fails to meet this lofty goal. I've gone 6 months or more without cleaning any part of it. I do, from time to time (when I remember) throw the mask and its parts in a small lingerie bag and toss that puppy in the wash. Seems to work and smells tide fresh but tends to cause irreparable damage to the more delicate parts.

So, as a lazy practitioner of procrastination, I'm trying to find something that will do all the work for me. Got excited about the SoClean2, then not so much when the manufacturer says you have to clean your stuff manually first.

What I want is something that will wash the stuff for me without banging it all around like a clothes washer. I found compact, portable dishwashers that I think might fit the bill (see amazon link below for example). I figure I could control the hot water, it won't bang stuff around and I could use more appropriate CPAP cleaning products than Tide or dish washing soap (although having the clear plastic part of the mask spot-free feature is point for Cascade). Also these they don't have a heated drying cycle, thereby avoiding heat damage to the CPAP gizmos. Further, it's cheaper than the SoClean2. I even thought that I could run a new cycle and use the CPAP tubing as the drain hose and get it clean as well.

I could use the regular dish washer downstairs, but the idea of food residue (look in the bottom of your dishwasher, under the drain screen, after it finishes. dry heaves and 'nough said) contaminating the mask is enough for me to nix that idea.

Any ideas? Is this too cuckoo for CooCoo Puffs?

The ONLY thing you need to clean on a regular basis is your mask and that can be done with baby wipes twice a week. Do replace your filters when necessary, but other than that why even go to all the trouble you're contemplating? Why take any chances? I wouldn't!

It is possible that most clean accessories way more frequently at first, but many taper off.
Excessive cleaning is destructive, as you have found.
Unscented baby wipes are good for my silicone parts--as they are often too fragile to survive mfr's directions.
The hard parts of the mask get shaken/scrubbed with hot water and Dawn in a dedicated container.
The headgear fares well in a lingerie bag, but is easily washed by hand with hot water and Dawn.
When it needs it, I wash the tank in hot water and Dawn--but only when it NEEDS it.
My hose NEVER gets washed, except as a last chance before I replace it. Spares are wise to have.

My cleaning routine:

Fill sink with hot, soapy water. Put two mask cushions in there and slosh the water around for a while and then rinse them off. Set them on a towel to dry until night time. Done. Anything more is a waste of time.

In what room is the sink? Since bathrooms are whirlpools of aerosolized e-coli,
I would prefer drying my cpap masks in a room where nobody defecates. But that's just me.

I don't even have electric out in my outhouse. Can't run a dryer in mine. Jim

I used to dry my XPAP stuff on the clothes line in the back, but birds built a nest in my mask, and the hose had a wasp nest in it.

I think Archangle washes his stuff on the upper rack of the dishwasher. I use a dedicated plastic salad bowl from Wal-Mart. The soap I use is Dawn (thank you Froggie!). I wash my mask with a dedicated toothbrush, rinse real well, then soak in warm water. I then rinse it real good again, dry the mask with a towel. I then wipe down the mask with unscented, non alcohol and non aloe wipes. The wipes will remove the last of the soap odor. Done. I may do this every other week. On a daily basis, I wipe down the mask with the wipes.
