Woke up from the high pressure/leak. What should I do?

Post by curb » Fri Apr 28, 2017 3:14 pm

Hi everyone. Last night was the first time doing sleep therapy. I woke up 2-3 times from the high pressure and leak. The pressure wasn't going down after I was normally breathing for 1-2 minutes. It was uncomfortable so I removed the mask to 'reset' the machine to lower the pressure.

How long does the pressure stay high before it goes down after steadily breathing?

Is there anything I should adjust?

- I had the autoramp on auto in the beginning but woke up and turned it off.
- Resmed S10 AutoSet
- Resmed F10 Full mask
- Here's my sleepyhead result

Your results look fine... you're just adjusting (and your leak rate isn't excessive). You may be mistaking the CO2 vent air for a leak, but it needs to stay uncovered or you'll rebreathe CO2... and trust me you don't want to (won't kill you short term, but it's not comfortable).

Get a mask liner to tame the leaks

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll pick up a mask liner.

Your pressure really is not high. It never got much over 10 all night. That is considered relatively average.

Looks like it'll take awhile to get used to. I got a little startled when I woke up with that pressure.
