very new user first night

Post by positiveangel » Wed Apr 12, 2017 5:33 am

Hi my name is Christine, and I just have a simple question, because i have only used my cpap once, but i woke up with a really bad headache

but i know i had the mask too tight, because i woke up with it hurting my face and had indents near my nose, so is this normal to get headaches?

thank you so much for allowing me to join also

If the mask is too tight, of course you can have headaches. It shouldn't be too tight because it won't allow the thin cushion to inflate properly. If it doesn't fit properly and leaks then maybe it's the wrong size or you need to try other masks - and full face ones should be tried lying down because your face changes when you do that, so masks will fit differently then. You can also get a.m. headaches however, if your low pressure setting (using Apap vs Cpap) is too low and can't do it's job therapeutically... something to work out with your MD or else give us more info to work with so we can advise.
