Hi,
I have been using the P10 happily for a number of years. I had to adjust the straps more tightly in the end as the headgear is quite flimsy. I have suffered a strange side effect: drooping eyelids, quite severe. Specialist indicated it could be air pressure related (where there is a connection between the nose and the eyes) and advised to lower the pressure. I have, to max of 9, but with the P10, this is misery for me. It always has been, so I opted for higher pressure before. 9 is the exact boundary at which I no longer get the symptom of severely drooping eye lid (yep it is definitely related to the treatment).
I think the fine threading from the P10 at lower pressure is a problem for me. I keep inhaling too much stale air as the P10 (for me) does not clear the air fast enough. Yes, I do clean the grid regularly.
So I have been considering to switch. Is there a comparable nasal pillows mask that does not have the P10's dense grid to let air out? I don't mind extra noise. Also I am considering a full face mask (quatro fx possibly) as I have had big problems with mouth leaks in the past, though, with a chin strap and at lower pressure I am now using, this is no longer a problem.
I don't mean to spark a debate on the drooping eyelids cause or the virtues of the P10. I just am looking for advise on what mask to take that might be more suitable at lower pressure, to which I am now bound.
CPAP side effect and mask choice
Re: CPAP side effect and mask choice
The ResMed Swift FX nasal pillow mask is very similar to the P10 in terms of pillow construction but it doesn't have the diffused vent holes that the P10 has. So you might look at the Swift FX nasal pillow mask.

The headgear doesn't stretch out either like the P10 and it's more adjustable. It is a bit noisier of course but not hugely noisy.
You might also try going up a size in the P10 if you have a larger size available...might help with the air movement issues you experience at the lower pressure.
