Throwing PVC's

Post by Holly426 » Mon Mar 27, 2017 6:58 pm

I completed my first sleep study (whole time without cpap) and was told severe sleep apnea. She said I was throwing PVC's. is this common? Something I need to be concerned now? They called back today and told me my AHI was 81 and when I asked about cardiac events, she started to say, no tachacardia, no afib, then stopped and said she needed to ask the doctor first. What should I be thinking now?

that doctors are verry jealous and don't want techs explaining things to people, lest the people figure out that the techs know as much, or more than the high dollar doctor and can read the results just as well... but doctors want to charge you an office visit to explain something the tech could have told you.

I also had PVC's in my study and in a follow-up period wearing a Holter Monitor. They improved after treating my sleep apnea. Over the years I've also developed PAC's too. What I was told back then was that occasional PVC's are not a concern. When they cluster together in runs they can cause symptoms, for instance I would get weak and light headed. Most of mine were just couplets so not a real problem. Wait and see specifically what your test showed, then discuss with your doctor if further testing is merited. It may be a non issue.

Your Sleep Apnea needs to be treated urgently! An AHI of 81 is very severe, it's more than one event per minute! Sleep Apnea is diagnosed as low as 5!

Once you get that taken care of, I would see a cardiologist. It's probably not serious, but I would go anyhow.
