Need some advice on something I read, and a product...

That's good to know, but I think it's a non-issue anyway since that adapter seems to be the way to go. I'm a little concerned about the other stuff now though - "monitoring my therapy" and all that. It appears there's something else I should be doing other than regular filter changes and cleaning. I just never thought about it because I immediately took to the CPAP like a fat kid to cake. I put it on and almost instantly crash out. It seemed pretty simple and self-explanatory to me.

Which model M series do you have?...what do all the words say on it...both the blower and the humidifier?
Or if you can give me the model number I can check and figure out which model.
Some of the M series machines have data available on the LCD screen that you could check now if you wish.
It all depends on the model.

At some point in the future you are going to want to get new machine though. I am pretty sure the VA is still dispensing full data machines if you are going to be going back to them.

Yep. Full data...or at least what was full data when the M series was the latest and greatest.
There is software available you could use but the card reader for the M Series is kinda pricey.
But there is a little bit of data on the LCD screen.
It offers 7 and 30 day AHI averages and 7 and 30 day total leak averages and if those are all good and you are feeling good...there's no urgent need to use the software unless you just want to.
You have to turn on a feature in the clinical menu so that you can see the information on the LCD screen assuming you can't see if now.
I suggest you go here and request the clinical/provider manual so you can learn how to get to that special menu so you can see the AHI and leak numbers.
