started using CPAP in oct 2016

Post by wafflestlh » Sun Mar 12, 2017 1:42 pm

Hi! I'm a newbie. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea in october of last year, and started using the CPAP machine then. I use the Eson nasal mask. Up until about 5-6 weeks ago, things were going great. My mood has improved, no headaches in the morning, I have more energy, have been exercising, lost weight, etc. About 5-6 weeks ago, the mask started bothering me more [fit feels uncomfortable], and my skin has reacted to it. Some nights it feels fine, other nights it feels like it's rubbing against raw skin. I wash the mask daily, haven't changed my soap, and have been on schedule with replacement masks. I live in southern NM and allergy season started in early Feb this year, so I'm wondering if that is making it more uncomfortable for me. Has anyone else had this experience? I was off to such a strong start and now I feel a little discouraged.

Mask Liners are available from remzzzs.com, padacheek.copm, or make your own.

remzzzs are a huge ripoff.. they sell the damn t-shirt cutouts for something like a buck a piece, and suggest you only use 'em once. get the 'free sample pack' and wash them...

padacheek.com is a much better deal, long term, and the owner cares about people and helping them, not just making a fast buck.

totally concur.

i fell for the remzzzs. spent about 30 bucks for what is essentially a stack of die cut t shirt material. in fact, if you want to try them...i'd be happy to send you a bunch. just pm me your address.

i have recently bought the padacheek liners for my amara view and my airfit f20. so far i really like how they make the mask feel, but i had leaking problems last night...which i think is because i've got a bit of a stubbly beard going right now.

i'm going to try again tonight. i loved not waking up with red marks, and the fabric felt really much better against my face than the silicone. using the padacheek liner made the mask feel so much more comfortable. they are also made very well and the lady that sells them is a total pleasure to deal with.

i've talked with quite a few people who told me the padacheek liners have been a game changer for them.
