Red Mask Face - any ideas?

Post by Gryphon » Wed Feb 08, 2017 11:11 pm

I've been on cpap now for 11+ years. Full face masks since the beginning. I'd always wake up with lines on my face but they usually would go away with in 30min to an hour after I got up in the morning.

All the sudden with in the last 3 days I've had a red outline of the mask on my face all day long that doesn't go away. It's not a rash in so far as it's not itchy and it doesn't hurt. It looks like my skin is sunburn. Just wondering if anyone has had this happen to them before and what if anything helped. I'm hoping that what ever it is will clear up on it's own.

for the record I have been washing my mask but not overly so and not more or less then I had for the last 11+ years of use etc.

Are you washing with anything new? Or used a new cushion without washing?
Try a PadaCheek liner. If something is irritating your face, that should help. http://padacheek.com/
You could make one out of an old tee shirt cut to where it is between your face and mask.
You also might try Lansinoh which is Lanolin in a tube that is found in the breast baby area of stores. Use it in the day after you remove the mask.
