Respironics used to have vented covers over their filters but the newer machines simply have the filter fully exposed. I dislike the change because the filters can shift when the machine is moved even slightly.

I have a small plastic basket with open weave over my ASV. Also because of a cat. Mine likes to sleep on the bed table and used to move his head in such a way against the ASV that he was changing the humidity setting several times a night.

DME guy caught that one doing a check on a different issue. He had a good laugh over it.

You can get some "Skunk'Um" or wolf urine at PreditorPee https://www.predatorpee.com/ and put it on your filter

A friend of my brother got cheated out of a truckload of logs,
and lacking the resources to get it back, snuck out to where the timber was stacked,
And sprayed doe elk estrus urine all over.
After the dirty skunk built his cabin, it was wrecked by big, randy bucks trying to mount it.
